Eaton xStorage Home 3P is a battery-ready three-phase inverter combined with leading battery storage systems of choice and Eaton’s protection devices, providing installers and homeowners with an energy storage solution that is easy to install and use in homes. The battery-ready feature enables homeowners to add more batteries at a later date if they wish to further increase their solar self-consumption or increase the use of renewable energy to charge their electric vehicles.
Eaton xStorage Home 3P is suitable for on-grid and off-grid applications and when combined with a battery storage system also provides backup power for critical loads in less than three seconds. Installation of the system doesn’t require a personal computer, cables or internet connection and the system is then accessible through an LCD touchscreen or via the web.

During the day when the sun is shining, xStorage Home powers the load directly with renewable energy, thereby lowering the homeowners’ energy costs. It can also charge the battery with renewable energy when homeowners are out during the day for use later in the evening when they’re back home.
The evening is usually peak time, as everybody is back home and needs power. xStorage Home uses the energy stored in the battery to power the load. If the energy demand is very high, xStorage Home can also release power to the grid to support the needs of other households.

xStorage Home can be especially useful when the household’s maximum power consumption is limited by the energy provider, for example through a utility contract.
Any consumption above the contracted maximum peak power consumption will be penalised and the homeowner will be charged accordingly.
With the xStorage Home peak-shaving mode, these additional energy costs can be avoided, since the excess energy consumption will be covered automatically by the xStorage Home system, charged either from the solar panels during the day or from the grid during times of low energy demand.
