FAZ-NA-DC xEffect Miniature Circuit Breaker

The FAZ-NA-DC miniature circuit breaker is a protective device that is equipped with both a thermal and an electromagnetic release. The FAZ-NA-DC for DC applications is available in 1-pole and 2-pole versions with rated currents from 2 A to 40 A. The switching capacity is 10 kA according to IEC/EN 60947-2, UL 489 and CSA C22.2 No. 5. The DC rated voltage for all types is 125 V per pole according to UL 489/CSA C22.2 No. 5, and 220 V per pole for the 2 A version / 250 V per pole for the 3 A to 40 A versions according to IEC/EN 60947-2.

Reliable cable protection

MCBs protect cables against damage due to overload and short circuits: In the event of dangerously high currents, the circuit breaker’s bimetallic thermal release will disconnect the power supply. In the event of a short circuit, the electromagnetic release will disconnect the power supply in a timely manner.

A design that is standard-compliant and quality-tested

IEC/EN 60947-2 (VDE 0660-101) applies to circuit breakers in circuits with rated voltages up to 1,000 V AC, or up to 1,500 V DC. UL 489 and CSA-C22.2 No. 5 prescribe much larger clearances and creepage distances than the IEC standard.

The right MCB for every situation

Circuit breakers with tripping characteristics B and C are the most common types. For circuits with high inrush and peak currents (for example motors and luminaire banks) devices with tripping characteristic C are used.
